Itinerary

Day 01 : Drive Rishikesh to Pantwari village and Trek to Camp 1; (4-5 hrs drive), 5 hour trek.

 

Start an early morning drive from Rishikesh to Pantwari Village via Mussoorie – Kempty Falls road. Reach Pantwari village and start your trek on a rocky path right from the middle of the village. Pay homage to the Nag Devta shrine and enjoy the scenic vistas of the uphill trek. Evening bonfire and overnight stay in camp 1.

 

Day 02 : Trek Camp 1 to Nag Tibba top and back (4 hr trek) and Drive to Rishikesh (6 hr drive).

 

Nag Tibba Base is a large clearing with a temple dedicated to the Serpent God. The trail to the summit passes through thick forests of oaks and deodar with some steep ascents. Witness the stunning views of Himalayas from the Nag Tibba summit (3022m). You can see Bandarpunch, Kedarnath, Gangotri group of peaks, Changbang and others. After relaxing for a while, retrace the same route backwards to reach Pantwari. From village, board our awaiting vehicle to drive us back to Rishikesh. Lunch on the way and trip finishes at the arrival in Rishikesh.

Nag Tibba Trek is an ideal weekend trek, perfect for beginners. It is situated in the lesser Himalayan region (Garhwal Himalayas) of Uttarakhand state. Nag Tibba is a trekkers’ delight as one gets to see the prominent views of several snow clad Himalayan peaks namely, Bandarpunch, Gangotri group of peaks, Kedarnath, Changbang and many more. You also get to visit the ancient Nag Devta Temple. It is a revered site, and devotees offer prayers to the deity here. The sun rise from this spot is an enthralling sight of the great Himalayan range.
It is believed to be the abode of ‘Nag Devta’ or God of Snakes, from which it borrows the first part of its name; ‘Tibba’ is a local word for hill or peak. Local villagers come here to offer their prayers to Nag Devta for the protection of their cattle. This place is frequented by trekkers and adventure lovers for its scenic beauty and is at elevation of 3022 meters. Winters are chilly and summers are pleasant, making it an attractive place for camping.
