The Valley of Flowers national park located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This Reserve Forest “Valley Of Flower National Park” is in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves since 2004. The valley was declared a national park in 1982 and now it is a World Heritage Site. Every year Valley Of Flower National Park open from June to October. In this period you could witnessed to see the famous and rarest of the rare blooms like Blue Poppies, hooded Cobra Lilies, Anemones and rarest of the rare Brahmakamal. Mana Village:
Mana is a small pilgrim village that is located in the state of Uttarakhand. The village is present near the religious site of Badrinath. The village has the distinction of being the last settlement on the road to the country of Tibet. It is situated at a height of around 3219 meters. The village is on the banks of the River Saraswati. The entire region is surrounded by hills and one can see many small streams nearby as well.

Ghangaria:

It is the last human habitation centre on the way to Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers. Ghangaria is a scenic hamlet perched at an altitude of 3,050mts above sea level at a distance of 13km from Govind Ghat and 4kms before Valley of flowers. The trek becomes easy to moderate from this point if you are travel towards Hemkund Sahib.

The region is prone to heavy snowfall in winters, therefore the region remains opened from May to October. A Gurudwara, GMVN rest houses and a few more hotels provide accommodation facility at Ghangharia.

 

Shre Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara:

The tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Govind Singhji mediated at Hemkund Sahib for years. The word Hemkund literally suggests 'Lake of snow' and the immaculate water of this lake is as cold as snow. Hemkund Saheb is located at an elevation of 4,329mts above sea level amidst several snow capped peaks, which are collectively called Hemkund Parvat.

A star shaped gurudwara near the lake is visited by thousands of devotees every month. A temple dedicated to Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama is also located here. One must complete a trek of 6km from Ghangharia to reach Hemkund Sahib. The best time to visit this place is from July to November.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day : 1 Delhi to Govind Ghat, Distance 500 KM, 12 -14 Hrs Jouney

    Reporting time is 20:00 hrs and by 20:30 Hrs Departure. Overnight Departure From Kaushambi Metro Station opposite to Anand Vihar ISBT, Delhi

    • Day : 2 Govind Ghat

      Reach by afternoon, check at hotel / home stay, overnight at Govind Ghat

      • Day : 3 Govind Ghat – Ghangria . Distance – 10 KM [Duration: 6 – 7 hours trek]

        After early breakfast at Govind Ghat Homestay, start your trail to Ghangria. On the way you can see waterfalls & natural beauty . Spend the rest of the day exploring the surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Ghangria.

        • Day : 4 Ghangria – Valley of Flowers – Ghangria . Distance – 6 KM [Duration: 4 – 5 hours]

          This day’s trip take us into the Valley of Flowers. After having breakfast we will start our trek towards the valley . On the way we will be crossing Pushpawathi river . Eye catching spectacles like the cascading waterfalls, small streams and above all the flowery meadows awaits the visitors all through the way.Explore the valley and return back to the hotel . Night stay at hotel in Ghangria.

          • Day : 5 Ghangria – Hemkund Sahib – Ghangria Distance – 8 KM [Duration: 5 – 6 hours]

            On this day we will be trekking to the Hemkund Sahib ( 14200 feet ) . A steep hike to the lake of Hemkund Sahib (a holy place for the Sikhs) is planned for the day. Its a steep so we will going slow, on the way you can see many waterfalls , Himalayan flower Brahma Kamal which is grow hight of 11000 to 15000 feet . Return back to the hotel for the night stay hotel in Ghangria.

            • Day : 6 Ghangria – Badrinath – Joshimath [Duration: 4 – 5 hours]

              After breakfast by 07:00 am, we will trek back to Govind Ghat. We will reach by lunch at Govindghat and after lunch will start road journey to Shri Badrinath Temple. It’s a beautiful journey enroute waterfalls and rivers. During the journey enjoy the magnificent flow of Alaknanda river. By evening we will reach back to Govindghat. Overnight at Govind Ghat Homestay.

              • Day : 7 Govindghat - Delhi [ Duration: 12-14 hours ]

                After breakfast we will start our drive back to Delhi which gone be little tiring and long journey but with beautiful memories of trek.

No refund of total trip amount will be provided on cancellation, 10 days prior to departure date.

50% of total trip amount can be refunded on cancellation between 11-20 days prior to scheduled departure date.

90% of total trip amount can be refunded on cancellation between 21-90 days prior to scheduled departure date.

100% of total trip amount can be refunded on cancellation, 90+ days prior to scheduled departure date.

Q. What will be the group size?

Usually, we take maximum of 15-18 people in one group. We believe bigger groups have less fun and less coordination so that’s why we prefer smaller groups.

We need at least 6 people to operate our fixed departure tours/treks.

Q. Who all will go along with us on the trip/trek?

All our treks are led by professional trek leaders who are certifie, mountaineers. Apart from them, there will be one local guide, cook, helper, porters and other staff.

All our trips are led by professional trip coordinators who have a good experience in leading groups.

Q. I am the only girl in the group, is it safe to travel/trek solo?

Yes definitely it is, the safety of girls is most important for us. All our guides and other staff are carefully chosen for trips/treks. They are honest and reliable but we also advise you to take care of your personal belongings.

Q. What are the things that we need to carry on the trek/trip?

Once you confirm the trip/trek and done with the booking, we will send you the packing list according to the trip/trek.

Q. What type of ground transportation will be used on the trip?

We hire taxis such as Innova, Tempo Traveller, Bolero, Tata Sumo, etc. from our vendors.

Q. I cannot carry my rucksack/bag on the trek, can I offload it?

We always recommend that you carry your rucksack during the trek because it helps in maintaining your body posture. In case if you cannot, then we can provide you a mule/porter to carry your rucksack. You will have to tell us at least 1 week before the trek. The charges for offloading would be INR 300 per person per day.

Q. Which shoes should I buy?

Shoes are your lifeline on the trek. It is highly advisable to buy trekking shoes of a good and known brand. You can consider companies like Quechua, Columbia, etc. A waterproof shoes with ankle support will work good.

Q. What will be the type of accommodation?

It depends on the tour. If it is a trek then you will be staying in dome tents or if it is a road trip the the accommodation can be in hotel/alpine tent/dome tent/home stay.

Q. Will you provide sleeping bags and mattresses?

Yes, we will provide sleeping bags and mattresses during the trek. Our sleeping bags can withstand temperature as low as -10 degree.

Q. How many trekkers will be in one tent?

It totally depends on group dynamics. If there is a couple, we can give them a separate tent or if there are odd number of people, then there would be triple sharing.

Q. How can I book a trek/trip with you?

Q. What type of food is served during the trek?

We provide nutritious and healthy food during the treks. We always serve Indian vegetarian food and eggs.

Q. How to get safe drinking water on the trek?

Himalayan water is considered the purest water and safe to drink. But for safety purpose, we sometimes boil the water and then use it for drinking and cooking.

In case you find any clean water on the trek, always fill your water where the water is running not where the water is stable or is in rest.

Q. Can we change the itinerary?

Yes, you can give suggestions. We will look into that and if we find it feasible then we will apply it.

Q. Can you customize the trip/trek?

Yes, we can customize any trip/trek as per your needs and as per the feasibility.

Q. Will doctor accompany us on the trek?

No, but our trek leaders are certified in Wildlife First Aid course and they always carry first aid kit and oxygen cylinders on high altitude treks.

Q. Do you prefer I should bring some medicines with me?

Yes it is advisable that you carry your own medication on the trek.

Q. Diamox is advisable or not?

Well, it totally depends on person to person. Usually, there are no side effects of Diamox but if you are having any prior medical conditions then it is better to consult your doctor.

Our itinerary is designed in a way that we take sufficient time to get acclimatized. In case if you are having problem on the trek then tell your trek leader about your condition as soon as possible.

Q. Can I take my child along on this trek? What is the age limit?

It depends on the difficulty level of the trek. Minimum age for eligibility is 14 years.

Q. What will we do if it rains?

If it starts raining slowly while trekking then we will continue our trek as per the plan. Your poncho will keep you dry. In case if it is raining heavily then we will try to find any shelter and wait for the rain to stop or slow. If it rains at the campsite then there would not be any problem because all our living tents, kitchen tents and toilet tents are waterproof. You will stay dry inside.

Q. Why is the trekking pole necessary?

Differs from person to person. If you think that it would help you maintaining balance while trekking then do bring the pole. Some people think that trekking pole disturbs the walking rhythm. So it’s upto you.
