Tour Highlights

The Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra (Ex-Kathgodam) is the most popular choice for travelers arriving by train from Delhi or other major cities. Kathgodam serves as the "Gateway to Kumaon," allowing you to skip the long plains drive and begin your ascent into the Himalayas almost immediately.

Tour Highlights

Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Kathgodam to Pithoragarh

Meet at Kathgodam railway station early morning. The climb begins immediately through the winding roads of Kumaon. Stop for darshan at Kainchi Dham and later visit the ancient Jageshwar Dham temple complex. Arrive in Pithoragarh by evening. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Pithoragarh to Dharchula

A shorter drive today to reach the border town of Dharchula. The main task is administrative: completing mandatory medical check-ups and obtaining the Inner Line Permits (ILP) from the SDM office. Use the evening to explore the local market or walk across the bridge into Nepal. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 3: Dharchula to Gunji / Nabi Village

Shift into specialized local 4x4 vehicles for the rugged terrain ahead. The route follows the Kali River, passing through Chialekh and the high-altitude Garbyang village. Upon reaching Gunji/Nabi (3,200m), the rest of the day is strictly for rest and acclimatization to prevent altitude sickness. Overnight in a homestay.

Day 4: Adi Kailash Darshan & Jyolingkong

Depart early for Jyolingkong for the first view of Mount Adi Kailash. Perform puja at the Parvati Sarovar and visit the ancient Shiva-Parvati temple. If you are feeling physically fit, you can trek a further 2 km to Gauri Kund. Return to your homestay in Gunji/Nabi for the night.

Day 5: Om Parvat Darshan & Return to Dharchula

Drive to Nabidhang to witness the sunrise over Om Parvat. On the return journey, visit the Kali Temple at Kalapani and the Vyas Gufa. Continue the descent all the way back to Dharchula by late evening. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 6: Dharchula to Chaukori / Almora

Begin the return journey through the Kumaon hills. Stay at Chaukori, known for its breathtaking views of the Nanda Devi and Panchachuli peaks, or continue to the cultural hub of Almora. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 7: Descent to Kathgodam

After breakfast, drive back down to the plains. You will be dropped off at the Kathgodam Railway Station by evening to board your overnight train.
